Welcome TTP Referral Partners
Black and LatinX Tech Accelerator
We’re excited to announce that the Black and LatinX Tech Accelerator is now accepting applications. If you’re interested in applying, please read through the requirements below and be sure to submit your application before the deadline!
Building on TTP’s commitment to expand access to tech jobs for under-represented New Yorkers, this initiative will aim to strengthen the skills of qualified candidates - with a specific focus on Black and LatinX CUNY and NYC bootcamp grads - and streamline their pathway to entry-level jobs.
This initiative will include a series of workshops with industry professionals designed to:
Sharpen technical and interviewing skills
Enhance career preparation
Connect qualified participants to open roles at tech companies for consideration
Participation is specifically limited to recent graduates of CUNY computer science and NYC software engineering or web development bootcamps who successfully pass a technical and professional application process.
Candidates who successfully complete the workshop and related requirements will be eligible for referral to partner companies - including the Spotify NYC Technology Fellowship - for consideration for entry-level web/software engineering roles.
To be eligible, candidates must:
Be 18 years old or over
Have graduated from a CUNY Computer Science department or NYC web development or software engineering bootcamp
Commit to seeking an entry-level web development/software engineering job in tech following the workshops
Be available to participate in a two-day workshop series in June (either June 6-7 or June 26-27)
Succeed in passing a technical and professional application
Be permanent residents of New York City
Application Process
Candidates interested in applying to the Black and LatinX Tech Accelerator must complete the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline’s (TTP) Candidate Skill Assessment. The goal of this assessment is to identify individuals who are great candidates for early-career, in-demand developer jobs in New York City.
Through a mix of code-challenge questions, in-person coding and interview questions, candidates have the opportunity to demonstrate they have the skills NYC’s businesses are looking for: the ability to use code and critical thinking to solve problems, communication skills, and additional items including passion for tech.
Technical Quiz: We’ll email you a link to complete some initial coding questions to determine your eligibility for the roles.
Live Coding Session: Once you complete the code questions, we’ll reach out to schedule a 1:1 technical interview with our Engineering Hiring Manager.
Take Home Challenge: You’ll get a chance to showcase your technical and coding abilities by solving a couple technical challenges.
Eligible candidates that complete this process will be invited to attend the Accelerator workshops, led by TTP and industry professionals. After completion of the Accelerator, candidates will be eligible for referrals to employer partners for final interviews in July.
