NYC Technology Fellowship Program

August 2019 - December 2019

We are currently recruiting candidates to apply for the Spotify New York City Technology Fellowship Program -- a development program aimed at hiring engineers just entering the professional tech environment from a diverse set of backgrounds.

Participants in the fellowship program will operate as a team within Spotify for 18 weeks while receiving mentoring, personal & professional development from a broad set of employees to help them reach their full potential and learn what it’s like to work at Spotify.

The 2019 New York City Technology Fellowship Program will admit candidates for backend and frontend roles.


Application Process

Candidates interested in applying to the 2019 NYC Technology Fellowship must complete the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline’s (TTP) Candidate Skill Assessment. The goal of this assessment is to identify individuals who are great candidates for early-career, in-demand developer jobs in New York City.

Through a mix of code-challenge questions, application building, and in-person coding and interview questions, candidates have the opportunity to demonstrate they have the skills NYC’s businesses are looking for: the ability to use code and critical thinking to solve problems, communication skills, and additional items including passion for tech.

  1. Code Questions: We’ll email you a link to complete three initial coding questions to determine your eligibility for the roles.

  2. Coding Challenge:Depending on how you perform on the coding questions, we’ll send you a coding challenge to complete and review during the in-person interview.

  3. Technical Screen: Once you complete phase II, we’ll invite you in for an in-person technical and behavioral interview with our team.

  4. Spotify Interview Day: Final interviews will take place at Spotify in late July. Candidates will participate in both technical and behavioral interviews to determine final acceptance into the Fellowship.

When is the application deadline?

We will accept applications until 12:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2019. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Is this a paid position?

Yes, the Fellowship is compensated.

When does the Fellowship begin?

Final interviews will take place in late July and accepted fellows will begin on Monday, August 26, 2019.

Is there an opportunity to be hired after the Fellowship?

The intent of the Fellowship is to convert participants who meet the expectations and complete all of the requirements of the Program but there is no guarantee of full time employment after the 18 week Fellowship.
